Surprisingly there is a rather large group of 1200 baud packet users in south central Indiana, with about 4 or 5 bbs systems within reach. &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I connected to one and lost patience by about the time the "help" command finished returning.  :)&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;In my own opinion, the unfortunate thing here is that a lot of these vhf bbs systems lie in small towns with APRS "dead spots". Could easily convert them to APRS digipeaters. (specifically in one town that has multiple packet bbs's)&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;But hey, if this is what the guys are into then more power to them.  It is a diverse and open hobby.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Please post a follow up if you go looking for local BBSs, I'm curious if they are really that popular in other places, or if there is just a small group of locals here who are hanging on.
